Qui Nhon, Tuy Hoa and Vicinity
This part of the journey was probably the most challenging. The roads were atrocious and the traffic unbelievable. Since Highway 1 is the main road of the country and parallels the only operating railroad line, the logistics traffic is quite heavy and the entire country depends upon this ill-maintained road.

Qui Nhon is a major seaport with a decent beach.
The road between Qui Nhon and Tuy Hoa goes from very good to very bad. Vung Ro Bay is as scenic as ever, and the road along the coast reminds one of California's Pacific Coast Highway with its beauty. Tuy Hoa is trying to become a manufacturing area, but for now is most famous as having a major brewery (Saigon Beer).
Highway One has also become a toll road.
Bus tours can be fun, but the homework is never done.
